She is Kali, a godess who kills demons. Worshipped in India. Her tongue is sticking out because she went on a demon killing rampage and in her zeal, accidentally killed her husband. The Woman she has her foot on was, as legend has it, exited about Kali's demon killing skills, so much so that the only way to contain her was to hold her down as illustrated. Elliott Smith wore it on his arm, not the picture, but Kali's name. Has he demons to kill?

I realized yesterday that I havn't been listening to other peoples music alot lately. Vicky's radio has been paying its debt to nature for about 6 months now, and I have not turned on the stereo at home other than to record or edit home made music. The tele, I'm afraid, does not constitute a real music listening experience for me. I'm usually left aghast at the silly 'rock star look at me' or 'my mom and dad suck and i'm gonna tell you all about it in my song' impotence. The results of such behavior show up in the music I write. Sometimes for the better, but most times not. When ES's new record comes out, I'm sure that will change. Nothing really drives me to listen. Perhaps someone could suggest an artist who inspires them.
