Cranky, cranky. I couldn't even get into my beautiful snow-bound Vicky this morning to crank her up. Locks froze. I was happy for the long warm coat while I kicked the doors. Not kicking in anger, but to loosen up the innards (innerds?). Really. She's a 1990 crown victoria with 159,000 miles and a great attitude. Used to be white. Rides a little low in the rear, but smooth. I called work to let them know I'd be late. I beat and cussed and spit for about 15 minutes. In desperation, I yanked at the rear door. Yep, opened. I was far too relieved to relish the irony. The long term fix would involve taking off the door panels and lubing up the locks and rods and the like, the short term fix and the one, incidentally, I like best, is to not lock the doors. If anyone steals sweet Vicky, they need her more than I.
