Harvest

We are newbie farmers and something has gone horribly wrong. However we are not sure exactly what at this point. Root vegetables make some awesome shapes, but these were even too creepy to eat. We left them on the counter as an oddity to view while they shriveled and made their way to the waste bin.Some of the carrots did make the cut though, here's Miss Jane cleaning the stubby chums with a toothbrush. (My teeth have been minty fresh with an earthy dynamic)

We have much to learn, thank God. I look forward to the spring and to treating our soil with fresh poop and organic matter to grow a little better than last year. For now the snow will cover and the earth will freeze and the back yard will be something I look at from my window while I make plans to put my hands into the ground and see what grows.
