Monday

Dawn, crisp air and jammies

Dawn. We were up at or before dawn this weekend. Sweet hot water drinks and dim lights worked like a gently increasing slope to start us rolling into the day ahead. Rand brought his leather hat and resonator over early in the afternoon and we recorded some guitar tracks for his new song. Before that we had a lunch of fresh tomato sauce made from backyard vegetables and herbs with Italian sausage over elbows and linguine.

Sunday we went to the Red Wagon Farm with Lucas and his posy. My retinas are still projecting an orange halo on everything I view, hm. It is a traditional thing we do and were happy that my Mother was able to meet us there this year.

I am always impressed by the "goth" folks who brave the sunshine and come to this sappy syrupy family event. The irony adds to the already abundant smiles.
"No thanks I'll just listen to Reznor in my room...wait, what, pumpkins? Hold on, let me get my sun screen!"

Lucas came over this morning in his one piece jammies with a single zipper down the front. All cottony and they looked so warm and comfortable. I mused how wonderful it would be if they came into fashion for adults, not for sleep but for work and play. Convenience might drive the change, imagine one single decision to make in the morning. Well, shoes-that's two, and maybe if you wore a leather hat, or knit or felt-so there's three, yes, three decisions.
