Second Beach, Newport R.I.

When I was 19 we would drive to this overlook where the tourists did not go and carry on watching the ocean and the beach. The rock formations are unique, looking cobbled as if millions of rocks were thrown into a batch of concrete.

There is a bridge over this great split in the rock, when the weather is rough waves crash and shoot through the narrow channel soaking surprised gazers in a cold, briny wash.

When I was 41 I went back again with my wonderful wife, it was April and very raw, She seemed to enjoy the scene and thankfully there were no shooting waves.
