Tie-breaker wrestling match

Well we bundled up and went to the Home Depot on Sunday and had a nice time of it, right down to the friendly cashier. We ended up with 2 gallons of paint for the kitchen, some sample knobs, hinges and drawer pulls and a chunk of flooring. The paint is sandstone, kind of a light beige with peach notes and that is the first (and affordable) step. The cabinet hardware is brushed nickel finish and I think we can find them cheaper on the interwebs, while the floor is a toss between bamboo which is very light and a tile looking product which is dark. I like the bamboo, Jane seems to like the tile so we will solve the dispute by rock/paper/scissors or a flat-out wrestling match. The cashier was pleasant and nothing beeped as we walked through the security devices, not even our "free"stir sticks, so the whole trip was positive. Now for the prep work and the painting, oh bother.
